PADI Deep Diver Speciality |Sussex Diving & Leisure

Explore deeper dive sites with confidence at depths down to 40 metres/130 ft. Learn to manage your gas supply, go over buddy contact procedures, and buoyancy control.

The lure of the deep. There’s something exciting and mysterious about exploring deeper dive sites while scuba diving. Sometimes it’s a wreck that attracts you below 18 metres/60 feet, and on wall dives it may be a giant fan or sponge. Whatever it is, to scuba dive with confidence at depths down to 40 metres/130 feet, you should take the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course.
If you’ve earned the PADI Adventure Diver rating or higher, and you’re at least 15 years old, you can enrol in the Deep Diver course.

Your training starts by reviewing reasons for deep diving and how important it is to know your personal limits. During four deep dives with your instructor, you’ll go over:

  • Specialised deep diving equipment.
  • Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control.
  • Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations.
Also, the first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

In addition to your normal scuba equipment you will need a dive computer.

Our PADI Deep Speciality courses normally take a day and are either held at the
NDC Chepstow or Vobster Quay.

The course costs Just £295 and and that covers the course materials & PADI Certification.

To make a purchase you will be redirected to our on-line shop.

It is assumed that by this level you will have invested in your own standard equipment (BCD, Regs, Mask, Snorkel & exposure suit) so we have not included the price of standard dive equipment in the price of this course, we can however arrange a suitable hire package on request.

Once you have made your course purchase you can begin the learning process by viewing the Course Video.

Keeping you safe...

Our first consideration as always is your safety, in an effort to ensure this all our training will be undertaken in line with the industry best standards.

  • All equipment will be washed, sterilised between uses and stored in a well ventilated area for at least 36hrs before re-use.
  • If you are undertaking a course that takes more than one session your equipment will be issued to you at the start of the course and you will be asked to keep it and care for it between sessions, thus eliminating any chance of cross infection.
  • Unfortunately numbers in our pool facility and at dive sites are strictly limited at this time to allow for social distancing therefore may not be possible to allow spectators.
  • All students will be expected to observe social distancing, unless from the same cohort.
  • All students will be expected to use face coverings when not in the water.
  • At the moment the changing rooms at our pool facility and open water site are not open, so you will need to change waterside.
